How drivers, with spring warming, simply screw up the car’s air conditioning

Many car owners are sure that you should not regularly operate the air conditioner in the cold season in order to keep the components in good condition before the heat sets in. For some reason, they simply forget about the accumulation of moisture in the elements of the system and the fat that thickens in frost. However, in the driver’s communication with the climate control system, there are plenty of other errors. And fatal.

At negative temperatures, which still prevail in the off-season, the inactivity of the refrigerant in the air conditioning system does not lubricate the moving parts of the compressor, which is actually the most expensive part. Therefore, after a long period of inactivity, the air conditioner begins to operate in the so-called dry mode, slowly but surely destroying pipes and other elements.

To avoid such troubles, it is still necessary to turn on the “condo” periodically, even in the cold, but only when the engine has warmed up to operating temperature. A few minutes to prevent it from working is enough. The lubricant will penetrate into the rubbing parts of the mechanism and will not bring the compressor to an untimely death.

Surprisingly, the fact is – the lion’s share of car owners never check for the presence of freon in the air conditioning system and contact the technical center after that, when it simply stops blowing cold air from the deflectors. Often the “climate” in modern cars, which are increasingly disposable due to a lack of coolant, begins to “stranger”, working for wear. It’s like a fuel pump, which can easily go to the dustbin of history if the tank simply runs out of gas. Agree: it is better to check the presence of freon and maintain its level, rather than repair the system yourself.

And almost none of the drivers clean the radiator of the air conditioner, the honeycombs of which clog up quite quickly in harsh Russian operating conditions. Dust, dirt, reagents – all this destroys the radiator too quickly, reducing the life of the climate system. Therefore, it is better to prevent than to cure later, right?
