One of the screws holding the car’s second row seat was not properly tightened, and this information began to circulate among workshops and authorized representatives of the brand. Since then, they have had no choice but to ask the machines to come back to find out what happened. An official document was released announcing the decision and the first details.

However, even if Tesla is responsible, they put the blame on the supplier and quality control of the responsible company. Given that this screw is interlocked with the seat belt design, failure to adjust it could create a risk of injury if it collides with any other surface. And between a job that is partially or even not working as it should, it represents a number of different cases in which a simple accident can cause a great tragedy.

This affected vehicles manufactured between May 23, 2022 and February 5, 2023 and, to our knowledge, there were no accidents. Vehicle owners will soon receive a message with all the recall information, already lining up how the procedure will work at its authorized and service centers, Tesla said.

Tesla’s second look

In the official statement of the brand, they will carry out an analysis procedure for free to tighten everything that shows failures in the production of seats and seat belts. They say they will inspect the seat next to the driver’s seat, the most basic driving seat, as well as the second row.

Tesla supplier Faurecia said it has been implementing a new form of testing since December 2022, improving training and supervision to ensure mistakes don’t happen again. The company guarantees that the screws will be checked more carefully based on this issue.
