– Where the roads are in excellent condition, where repairs and overhauls are completed, the fatality rate increases. People start driving faster and extra lighting, markings and warnings are not immediately installed, says Bogomolov.
Recall that in 2022, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, 26,800 km of federal and regional roads will be repaired. This is 6% more than a year earlier. At the same time, about 1,600 km of new highways were built, which is 15% higher than the figure for 2021.
It should be noted that Russian highways are now being built and reconstructed as part of the national Safe High-Quality Roads project. At the moment, about half of the federal and regional highways have already been brought into the normative state. The entire national project is designed for the period up to 2030.
At the end of 2022, the government will significantly reduce the funding for the construction and repair of a number of transport facilities. In particular, the construction of diversions near Moscow Orekhovo-Zuyevo and Krasnodar has been postponed. The second ring road in St. Petersburg lost its project funding. The construction of the Meridian transcontinental route, which should connect Belarus and Kazakhstan, has been frozen. As well as the highway project between Yekaterinburg and Krasnodar with an appeal to Saratov. In addition, all projects to “clean up” bottlenecks on Avtodor highways in the Moscow region have been “zeroed”. The Court of Auditors should be satisfied: the intention is to build less flat roads in the country, which, according to the auditors’ logic, will save some lives…
