Despite sanctions, Continental is increasing tire production in Russia

Literally a few days ago, at the annual press conference of Continental AG, the company’s CEO, Nikolai Setzer, announced his intention to limit operations in Russia and sell the tire plant because of the SVO. And while the West is euphoric about what has been said, the company is actually increasing local production. War is war, but money is more important.

In the context of sanctions and geopolitical disasters, many companies have been forced to “work” on two fronts. Continental was no exception, which seems to align with the position of the anti-Russian West, but by no means obligated to. How else can the tire manufacturers’ decision to increase production at their own plant in Kaluga be explained?

“Given the challenges of the times, the market situation and the requests of our customers, we are increasing the production and sales of the Matador brand. The tires of this brand successfully combine high quality, innovative technologies and reasonable cost,” says Vladimir Barvinok, General Manager of Continental Tires Rus LLC, about the marketing strategy.

Matador MP47 Hectorra 3, MP82 Conquerra 2 tires and indecent off-road MP72 Izzarda A/T 2 tires are prepared for the summer season for Russian consumer company in compliance with all requirements and standards of quality and safety.

As for the products of the parent brand Continental, it is still actively sold. For passenger cars, the ContiPremiumContact 5 model is presented, for crossovers – ContiCrossContact LX2 and ContiCrossContact LX Sport, and for SUVs – CrossContact ATR.
