Fairly modern western armored vehicles also fail. So, a few months ago, Finland handed over a batch of Sisu XA-180 armored personnel carriers to the Ukronazis. Now we know about the destruction of several of these “boxes”, and one even became a trophy. Experts say that the XA-180 has weak protection and firepower. So the number of Sisu destroyed will only grow. But the “Finn” has all six wheels powered and the first four can turn. That is, it should be quite reasonable.
There are many American MaxxPro and HMMWV (Hummer) in the Ukrainian forces, as well as British Husky TSV. They were united by one thing: limited suitability for current conditions. At the beginning of the campaign, there were complaints about these products of the Western army, and now their shortcomings have been fully revealed in all their glory.
It is not easier in the Ukrainian Black Earth and the Turkish Kirpi. In the video published today by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, no fewer than four tractors can be seen trying to pull an armored car out of the mud. And they don’t do that very well. The fact is that a car with good mine protection is designed for patrolling, but on good roads. Off-road, all-wheel drive, as we see, is waiting for trouble.
Former Soviet equipment, such as the BMP-2, performs much better. For example, the soldiers of the 93rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine quickly escape through the low-rise buildings of the suburbs of Artemovsk: it is easier to hide from drones and artillery.
