A slew of geopolitical meanings of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s three-day visit to Moscow crumble to dust for the driver, who, thanks to that Chinese, is home in four hours where it normally takes an hour. The AvtoVzglyad portal reflects on the obvious, but invisible to high-ranking politicians, aspects of the visit of the leader of a neighboring state.
President Xi Jinping’s actions in Russia have completely removed even the topic of the anniversary of the “Crimea Spring” from the current information agenda. On the day of the arrival of the Chinese guest, Russian special services blocked a number of streets in the center of the capital well in advance – before and after his meeting with President Vladimir Putin – for the convenience of his movements. As a result, for example, on the evening of March 20, many people did not get home from work until midnight. To go back to work the next day and … to be in the “Chinese” traffic jams again. Since Xi Jinping and his team had a lot of meetings and negotiations with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and members of the Russian government on March 21.
Once again, traffic was blocked all day in the center of the capital. So cruel that in some streets the speed of 100 meters in 25 minutes can be considered lucky. On the one hand, it is understandable: it is necessary to show “respect” to the main geopolitical partner and ensure its safety – you never know what will get into the head of some ugly saboteurs. But on the other hand… For the majority of Russian residents, who do not have much time to watch patriotic programs on the central TV channels, all this Russian-Chinese geopolitics is an extremely distant and uninteresting thing.
People want to somehow earn money for a living, but wait for the end of hostilities in Ukraine – so that in the summer they can safely go on vacation with their families in Crimea. And Xi arrived there or not Xi – in general, everything is the same for a person … If you look at the world like that and “push” the heaviest traffic jams, it is not clear by whom, all sorts of strange thoughts involuntarily begin you to come up. For example, that you and thousands of people like you are clearly treated like stupid lackeys. And that the authorities generally do not care about you: because, for the sake of illusory geopolitics, they allow themselves such a pig attitude towards an ordinary citizen. Had none of the Russian organizers of Comrade Xi’s visit even considered the negative effect such a transportation arrangement would have on the minds of the townspeople?
Even for the sake of Putin’s motorcade passages, Moscow has not been blocked so often and for so long! And at the same time, our president somehow manages to get where he needs to go when he wants to. We compare the “image” of Putin’s movements by car around Moscow with the “corks” in relation to Xi Jinping and we see: the Chinese partner is clearly courted even more abruptly than the native commander-in-chief! Maybe it was worth organizing all this in some way easier, wasn’t it? And they won’t understand…
