Recently, only electric transport has been discussed: a great future is predicted for this in our country. Even those Russians who have been drawn to gasoline “iron horses” all their lives are gradually getting used to “trains”. But such machines carry a serious danger. The market experts told about this to the AvtoVzglyad portal.
The massive development of electric vehicles has really changed the global automotive industry. The Russian is still resisting, but will soon bow too. According to Dmitry Turchin, CEO of Renera (a subsidiary of Rosatom), the market will gradually move towards innovation on wheels.
The expert is sure that citizens will not engage in “operational masochism”, that is, regular maintenance and repair of the fuel machine. After all, the “electric train” does not have a combustion engine, so oil and candles do not need to be changed. The result is less hassle and more savings. Not all that simple.
There are already enough hybrids and electric trains imported from China on the market. Everyone has their own technical solutions. It is difficult for an ordinary buyer to understand them, but it is necessary. After all, ignorance is not without problems. Sometimes quite serious.
At the “Intersectoral Automobile Congress”, held in Moscow, Dmitry Turchin spoke about the design of some batteries made in China. He noted that they are very low quality in some cars. The production culture leaves much to be desired, which entails a high risk of malfunctions. And the fittings are made of cheap plastic. It bursts in the cold and causes leakage of antifreeze, leading to a short circuit and fire. This is why electric cars spontaneously ignite in parking lots. I really hope that the technologies in Russian-Chinese crossovers and sedans are more modern.
We add on our own behalf that even quite expensive Asian “trains” have a battery that is not protected at all. But if you break through it off-road, for example, the closure is inevitable.
Renera representatives said that they have ready-made solutions that are not inferior to Western ones. For example, the VDA cells are almost the same as those of the BMW iX. And plastics, connectors, wiring harnesses can be produced already in Russia. The only problem is that our own production of traction batteries is just under development. Renera is ready to set up this process, starting with the extraction of lithium and ending with the disposal of end-of-life products. Of course, the assembly of energy storage devices also falls on her shoulders. But it’s not fast. Our citizens continue to want material learning. Otherwise, one day an expensive electric car will burn like a witch at the stake.
