Toyota Land Cruiser 100 like Putin: can you trust the “Japanese”.

0
Recently, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, visited Mariupol – he drove through the streets of the city in an SUV, in which the Toyota Land Cruiser 100 is unmistakably guessed. It turns out that the organizers of this event were not afraid to put the head of state in the Kruzak, then is it really as reliable as countless legends say? Then maybe you should buy such a car yourself? These questions are answered by the AvtoVzglyad portal.

Sotka is still popular with us and is therefore slowly losing value. However, you will no longer find copies with a modest mileage: you usually see 300,000 km or more on the odometer. And this fact confirms the reliability of the design. And, of course, the Kruzak is a universal car – it is convenient to drive both on asphalt and on rough terrain. Apparently that’s why the president chose such a car. Well, if he was chosen.

However, it is important to remember that the used “Japanese” has many problems. For example, the body is not very resistant to corrosion – rust quickly appears in scratches on metal. In addition, the bottom edges of the doors and the front edge of the hood are rotting. Those cars that came to us from the Middle East, and there were a lot of them, had a very weak anti-corrosion agent. And the Japanese also fixed the VIN number on rivets, which is why the plate is often lost.

In terms of powertrain, the Land Cruiser 100 is most often found with a 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine (235 hp). It has a strong cast iron block and a toothed belt drive – the belt must be replaced after 70,000 km. And after 50,000 km valve adjustment is mandatory. In general, the engine is reliable: problems can only occur with several sensors that fail over time, causing the engine to overheat.

The life of the “machine” Land Cruiser 100 directly depends on the load. With careful operation and regular oil changes (after 60,000 km), the box quietly “runs” more than 250,000 km. And if you ride the “all-prolaze” or often knead the dirt on the “Japanese”, then tangible jerks will occur when moving.

Go ahead. Kruzak’s off-road arsenal is rich: permanent four-wheel drive, downshifting, blocking, reliable transfer case. Although the latter deserves special attention – the assembly requires replacement of the lubricant after 50,000 km, and the universal joints must be injected at each MOT. Crosses often wear out, various mechanisms rust and sour. And often the front gearbox breaks.

The obvious weak points of the SUV are the brakes. Gambling runs on asphalt roads, and intense decelerations overheat the mechanisms – the discs are moving, and they need to be replaced. So the Cruiser is more suitable for a driver who is not in a hurry. And our president, we are sure, is just one of them.
