China’s Omoda will impose competition on leading car brands in 25 countries

Xiaohong Hou, director of the research, development and development department of the Omoda brand, told the AvtoVzglyad portal in an online meeting that as part of its global expansion, the brand will enter 25 new markets by the end of 2023, where it wants to compete with all leading car manufacturers.

In fairness, it should be noted that the first export market for the Chinese brand was Russia, where Omoda showed enviable sales figures a few months after the start of sales and finally broke into the top ten most popular cars among our compatriots in January. Let’s say more: the Omoda C5 crossover turned out to be the leader of all foreign cars on the market, bought on credit through its own marketing program.

The second market was Mexico, where the brand achieved absolute leadership in its segment in an indecently short time. In March, Indonesia, Australia and Türkiye joined the list of export countries. At the moment, the certification of cars in Chile is being completed and by the end of 2023, as already mentioned, the company will control 25 different markets. In addition, five new R&D centers are preparing to open outside China for research and development of future branded products.

“We position our brand as something ultra-modern, fashionable, technological and trendsetting. Russia is one of the most important markets for the company, so we are presenting many advanced solutions here for the first time. I will add that we intend to compete with different automakers in different markets, but especially with the leading ones,” Xiaohong Hou, director of Omoda’s research, development and brand development department, told AvtoVzglyad portal.
