Among other things, in the arsenal of the GLS there was a function of autonomous control of a car with a trailer, which, by the way, you can buy without leaving the car – through the same smart “multimedia”. Navigation is trained to lay routes taking into account the trailer “dangling” from the stern, so that the crossover does not end up in narrow streets, repaired areas or a dead end.
From now on, the entire GLS fairing is “diluted” with a 48-volt starter generator integrated into the gearbox, a nine-speed “automatic”. The mild hybrid rises to 250 Nm at the start, so that the crossover accelerates very quickly and silently. The power of the GLS 450 variant has increased to 381 hp. s., and the return of the already formidable “biturbo-eight” is now 517 forces. The diesel GLS 350 d “heated” up to 313 “horses”, and the more powerful GLS 450 d produces 367 hp. Of.
As for the AMG version, it has, as before, a 612 hp V8, with a starter alternator attached. And if in the same 4.2 seconds the crossover changes the first “weaving” of a place, then the “maximum speed” is now limited to 280 km / h. The drive in all modifications is uncompromisingly full.
