Judge for yourself: driving without a seatbelt in a car that is factory-fitted with this seatbelt will result in a fine of 1,000 rubles, in accordance with Article 12.6 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. We bend a finger. The driver tries to justify himself, saying that the belt “gave up” on the way, and he just goes to the service. What a cheater! However, in Russia there is a list of breakdowns in which driving vehicles is prohibited.
Guess which of them “registered” in paragraph 7.10? That’s right, a seat belt. That is, the driver himself, in the presence of an official on duty, is recognized as a violation of Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which entails a warning or a fine of 500 rubles. We bend the second finger.
Incidentally, the same list states in black and white that a defective or torn belt is a violation. Sloppy, dirty, not rolled back or scratched – no. But if the “tongue” is not stuck in the lock, as it periodically happens in domestic cars and “tired” foreign cars, it’s the same thing, 500 rubles and an order to urgently solve the problem.
There are two conclusions worth drawing: cheating is bad and expensive, and the belt should always be fastened.
