The South African edition of Cars reports that the Toyota FJ Cruiser is going to the museum, citing the company’s local representative office. Until recently, the model could be found at dealers in countries such as Chile, the Philippines and South Africa. Off-road vehicles were assembled for them at one of the Japanese Toyota plants. Now sellers are selling the remains of the once popular “iron horses”.
Recall that in the US FJ Cruiser stopped selling a few years ago. And in October last year, the Japanese announced the release of a farewell version of the Final Edition for the Middle East. The reason is banal: a drop in demand for true four-wheel drive. Yes, and Toyota itself has changed its development strategy, the main priority is now electric vehicles. They say the Cruiser will be replaced by an electric car based on the Compact Cruiser EV concept.
