According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, sales of used cars of imported brands in the Russian market increased by 25.5%. At the same time, more importantly, their costs have also increased. For example, compared to the last months of last year, the average price for a used foreign car increased by almost 12% to 750,000 rubles. What kind of “foreign” cars do our compatriots buy?

The share of “used” models of foreign brands approached 73.6%. By way of comparison: a year earlier this was slightly less than 67%. Analysts from the Avito Auto platform shared this data with the AvtoVzglyad portal. Of course, the opened window of parallel imports contributed to the increase in demand. In addition, the priorities of the Russians gradually began to change.

However, the sales leader is still the Japanese brand Toyota, which accounted for 7.6% of total aftermarket sales. The average check for crafts of this brand is 1,100,000 rubles. Slightly less – 6.3% – was used by the Korean Kia with an average cost of its products of 1,165,000 “wooden”. And the related Hyundai closes the TOP-3 with an indicator of 6.2% and an average price of 902,000 domestic notes.

Almost 5% of the share in the segment was occupied by the German Volkswagen, whose models trade on average for 778,000 rubles, the Japanese Nissan “bites” 4.4%, and the cost of its “secondary” is equal to 692,000 rubles.

As for specific models, the best-selling in the period from January to March 2023 was the American Ford Focus with an average price tag of 470,000 rubles and an industry share of 2.1%. The second most popular among our brother is the Korean Hyundai Solaris for 779,000 rubles and a market share of 1.7%. For an average of 780,000, you can buy a “cousin” Kia Rio, the share of which has fallen to 1.5%. The German VW Polo asks about 740,000 in Russian currency, and the Czech Skoda Octavia – 10,000 more.

The top ten best-selling foreign cars in Russia include the German Volkswagen Passat with an average price of 380,000 rubles, the French Renault Logan for 350,000 and the Korean Kia Sportage, which, however, costs less than 1.3-1.4 million, unfortunately not found on the market.

It is noteworthy that Russian people began to actively buy SUVs with a large frame. And the most popular were the Japanese Toyota Land Cruiser, including the Prado, as well as the domestic UAZ Patriot.
