For example, in a 1996 Volvo 850 or some Audi models, the filter element is located under the windshield. If the drainage holes are also clogged, water will surely fall on them. This leads to fogging of glasses, shrinking rubber bands and eventually to mold. In addition, pathogenic bacteria will enter the salon.

However, in modern cars, the scheme is such that the “salon” is located deep underground, and it is quite difficult for moisture to penetrate it – therefore it will be dirty, but dry. Hence the first advice – clean the drain so that the water can drain freely. So moisture will not cause problems, and there will be no local corrosion of the body in hidden cavities.

Go ahead. In the spring, a strong allergen – plant pollen appears, and the roadwork begins. In addition, exhaust gases do not evaporate anywhere. Maybe you’re planning to spend the whole summer out of town, but you still need to go to the store. The result – this whole “flower mud set” enters the cabin through the air ducts and passes through the filter, which is somewhere in storage. To clean or replace an expensive evaporator, in some cases it is necessary to disassemble the front panel, and such work costs a lot of money. Therefore, it is better not to remove the filter, but to dry and replace it regularly. So you avoid disastrous repairs and save your lung health.
