In recent years, domestic engine builders are known for a number of successful projects aimed at popular modifications of passenger cars and commercial vehicles manufactured by AVTOVAZ and GAZ. An illustrative example of the successful introduction of new power units can serve as a new modification of the 2.5-liter G21 series turbodiesel produced in Nizhny Novgorod.

This engine was created on the basis of the established Chinese analogue of the Foton brand and is already being installed on the popular Gazelle Next trucks and vans. A feature of these diesel engines is their rather solid power and high torque at the “bottoms”. This gives the car good acceleration characteristics and more confident driving performance when driving off-road, for example.

The new powertrains are equipped with an electronic control system that regulates engine operation and optimizes parameters to achieve maximum performance and minimize fuel consumption. One of the major design advantages of new “gas” engines is their increased reliability and durability, thanks to the use of modern materials and technologies.

The maximum power of the new “gas” engine is approximately 150 hp. Of. with a torque of 330 Nm. Incidentally, the torque even reaches high values ​​at the bottom: at 1000 rpm that is, for example, 305 Nm. According to preliminary estimates, the design life of such a turbodiesel before overhaul should be at least 300,000 km. However, this is clearly not the limit.

In particular, a number of experts who tested the G21 series diesel engines believe that, with proper operation, they can easily roll up to 500,000 kilometers. Much depends on the frequency of maintenance and the quality of the consumables used, including diesel fuel and, of course, engine oil.

And in this sense, I am glad that domestic high-quality lubricants have already appeared on our market, including those with specifications aimed at VAZ and GAZ units. For example, a new “semi-synthetic fabric” of the 10W-40 A3 / B4 series from the German brand ReinWell has recently gone on sale, the production of which is entirely localized in the Russian Federation.

The novelty is a motor oil with synthetic components and an additive package adapted to Russian conditions. According to experts, ReinWell’s 10W-40 A3/B4 product meets modern international API/ACEA standards. The viscosity parameters of the lubricant are selected in such a way as to ensure easy starting of the engine even in severe frosts and provide reliable protection against wear at high temperatures.

The A3/B4 classification means that the performance of this motor oil is maintained for a long time. From the point of view of practicality, the novelty can be recommended for a wide variety of modern power units, including turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines, including those equipped with catalytic converters. If we look at domestic cars, then the new oil is optimally suited for cars of brands such as VAZ and GAZ.
