Obviously, the vacated (even temporary) niche won’t be empty for long – it will soon be occupied by more agile brands. Therefore, now, in the conditions of a total shortage of new cars, “heavenly” brands are ready to come and return to the territory of Russia.
For example, the Chinese state car manufacturer Beiqi Foton Motor Co. plans to locate production of Foton Tunland pickups and medium-duty S-series trucks on Russian soil, the company’s Moscow office has reported.
– It was decided to enter into a long-term contract for the production of Foton Tunland pickup trucks and Foton S100 and S120 series trucks with a major automaker, Foton’s representative office says.
It is not specified with which factory it is intended to conclude this contract. But just in case, let’s not forget that GAZ Valdai Next medium-duty trucks are equipped with photon cabins … GAZ itself prefers not to comment on the statements of Asian partners.
We also remember that a year earlier, Foton restricted the sale of Sauvana SUVs and Tunland pickups, because these models were not in demand among Russians. But now, as we see, a company from China not only wants to resume trading, but also want to reach a new level for itself.
