The MyCitadel project team has announced a desktop version of the bitcoin wallet with full support for the Taproot update, including multi-signature transactions and spending scripts.
The application is written in Rust. MyCitadel works with hardware wallets, airgap apps, and trace-only wallets.
Full Taproot support allows you to arbitrarily configure complex spending terms and transfer bulk and partially signed transactions.
MyCitadel supports transfers over the Bitcoin Lightning Network micropayments network.
The project team noted that they tested the wallet in 10 transactions with multiple entries and exits – the total value of funds transferred was $100,000.
“While no funds have been lost, the software should be considered experimental and not used to store funds that you are not prepared to lose,” the developers wrote.
Recall that in November 2021, the Taproot update was activated on the Bitcoin network. This is the largest blockchain upgrade since the Segregated Witness (SegWit) protocol.
