NFT gaming operator Splinterlands has launched the open sale of licenses for validator nodes. This was reported to ForkLog by project representatives.
Node holders will be able to receive monthly rewards of 3.75 million SPS tokens from the pool. At the same time, 10% of the payments are towards 50-100 leading operators voting according to the Delegated Proof-of-Stake consensus model.
During the pre-sale, users purchased 2,000 licenses in 11 minutes. According to the stated mechanism, this caused ~14.5 million SPS and ~1 million Coupons to be burned. Approximately 3.6 million SPS was treasured by the project’s DAO, which equates to approximately $4 million. Within three hours of the start of the sale, 2271 nodes were sold.
“This combustion mechanism will put massive deflationary pressure on SPS and will be a pretty revolutionary concept in the blockchain gaming space,” said Liam Labistour, Splinterlands Director of Growth.
Recall that as part of the transition to a decentralized management model, the project announced the sale of 60,000 nodes.
In March 2022, the number of battles played in Splinterlands exceeded 2 billion.
