The project, internally named “Trinity”, promises significant improvements in performance thanks to the use of AMD’s advanced technologies. Of course, none of the above information has been officially confirmed yet. In fact, Sony hasn’t even confirmed the existence of a Pro model at this time. So for now, take this “information” with a big grain of salt.
Features of PlayStation 5 Pro
Expected features of the console are as follows:
- TSMC processor technology, 4 nanometers.
- GFX1115 graphics processor.
- The central processor is an AMD Zen2-based 8-Core with a peak frequency of 4.4 gigahertz, with 64 kilobytes of L1 cache per core, 512 KB of L2 cache per core, and a total of 8 megabytes of L3 cache.
- GPU – 60 CU RDNA 3 GPU.
- Improved rasterization, outperforming previous “Oberon” and “Oberon+” models by 50-60%.
- “Trinity” technologies include: fast storage, accelerated ray tracing and scaling.
- 16 gigabytes of GDDR6 RAM It has a bandwidth of 576 gigabits per second.
- It is not yet clear what volume the drive will receive. But we can assume that it will be a terabyte or more.
- RDNA 3 architecture with improved ray tracing from RDNA 4.
- 3584 shaders, 224 TMUs and 96 ROPs.
- The XDNA2 NPU processor can provide stable image quality in 4K with a frequency of more than 30 frames per second, thanks to AI-based resolution scaling.
If these specifications are confirmed, the console expects a significant increase in performance. Sony PS5 Pro could be released in fall 2024.
Insider Tom Henderson also revealed that the full features of the console should be expected as early as this month, as development kits are distributed to third-party developers.
