Xiaomi’s latest offering, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone, has made waves in the tech community after its recent launch in China. Initial reviews already heralded it as potentially the best Android camera phone on the market. However, the company is not resting on its laurels and has released several updates for the device in the first few days.
Within 24 hours of the launch, two versions of the MIUI 14 OTA update were released to users. The main purpose of these updates is to improve the already impressive camera performance of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. In the first patch, MIUI 14.0.7.0, the update is quite substantial, with up to 6.5GB of storage along with two Google security patches. The camera’s optimization features include setting the default zoom factor in street shooting mode and setting a fixed focus distance for the same mode.
MIUI 14.0.8.0, the second patch released shortly after, is comparatively smaller with only 87MB. Despite everything, Xiaomi recommends that all users update to this new patch, which promises to improve the user experience, make the system more stable and improve the overall shooting quality. The three major updates in this patch include image quality optimizations for certain scenes, adjusting the default zoom factor in street shooting mode, and a fixed focal length for the same mode.
While the latest fixes should be part of the latest update, the main goal is to improve the already impressive camera quality of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Xiaomi is known for sticking to timely updates, and the company has advised users to connect to the internet as soon as they receive the device to ensure that the camera optimizations provided by the latest update are available.
