What is the reason why this kangaroo tries to drown a dog in water?

Kangaroos have not been on the agenda so far with such incredible images caused by their aggression, but after what happened, It is possible to say clearly that there are facts that we do not know about these marsupials.

What different characteristics do kangaroos have that we are not familiar with? What is the reason behind this attack?

Before we continue with the video in question, it would be useful to talk a little about kangaroos:

Kangaroo

Without a doubt one of Australia’s most iconic animals. These creatures have an average lifespan of 5 years in the wild, but can survive up to 25 years with proper care. can reach a speed of 70 km per hour. They can be red, brown or gray in color and there are 4 different types.

It has an average height of 2 meters and a weight of 90 kilograms. The red-colored kangaroos of the genus Osphranter Rufus are known as the world’s largest marsupial. Their homeland is Australia and New Guinea.

Kangaroos have elastic tendons in their hind legs that store elastic tension energy. allowing them to provide most of the energy required to jump rather than muscular effort. Red kangaroos in particular can jump more than 8 meters in one big leap and have a constantly changing tooth structure.

They are the only large animals that prefer to jump to get around, and they use their tails as an extra leg.

Kangaroos are very predatory animals and are very strong, muscular and durable. They can stand on their hind legs with their heads up and He can defeat his enemy with his shoulders as if he were in a boxing match.

Footage of a kangaroo trying to strangle a dog has also gone viral on social media in recent days. This is the best evidence that they are very strong and can be quite dangerous when aggressive.

In the video in question, a man walking with his dogs along a river in Australia was met with a very unfortunate incident, both he and his dog.

Moloney, who briefly lost sight of his dog Hutchy, looked around and realized his dog had been captured by a kangaroo. The kangaroo tried to strangle the dog by placing both front paws around the dog’s neck.

The unfortunate man, not knowing what to do and trying to capture these moments, shouted at the kangaroo “release my dog”, but the kangaroo answered. With this order he became even angrier and this time tried to attack the man.

Kangaroos, which we mentioned are quite strong and aggressive, are very successful swimmers and usually run into the water when they realize they are being followed by a predator.

Sometimes, as in the images above, they take their prey into the water and continue their fight there. Their tails, which serve as a 5th leg and to which they owe their swimming skills, contribute to their strength during battle.

Again, when they realize they are being followed by a dingo or any wild cat other than a dog, they instinctively tend to run towards the water. When a human or animal tries to take its prey, as in the images above, They become angrier, change their goals and adjust their movements accordingly.
