Brazilian Streaming Changes: Service Nowbelongs clearwill undergo a change of identity and will be called ClaroTV+. The exact date of the modification has not yet been announced, but the company has already warned its subscribers that it should be adopted in the coming days.

The innovation will affect the operator’s portals and apps and is part of a brand unification effort in Latin America, as the “ClaroTV+” name is already being used in other countries.

The current Now plan includes over 100 channels owned by groups such as Opening, Disney, the globe, write down and SBT. Recently, Claro released a beta version for LG devices, and it is also possible to hire an online-only service for on-demand content and live streams.

The application does not require a TV box from the operator, but a cell phone is required to mirror it to smart TVs, depending on the brand.

Streaming services still do not dominate user preferences

Despite growth, the streaming market has still not overcome the public’s preference for other, more “traditional” media such as cinema. Fandango, an American ticketing company, released a poll at the end of April in which the two faced off against each other.

The survey showed that 93% of 6,000 respondents prefer to watch movies directly on the big screen. Of these, 85% confirmed that IMAX and Dolby enhance the viewing experience.

However, the study doesn’t point to a downfall in streaming overall as it continues to expand and movies are already quickly hitting the platforms. Matt Reeves’ The Batman is now available on HBO Max just 45 days after it premiered.

The survey also looked at factors that motivate moviegoers to visit cinemas. Among respondents, 95% go to watch their favorite genres, 93% choose what to go based on trailers, 91% on recommendations from friends and family, 90% to stay up to date on franchises, and 88% based on positive reviews.
