Although speculative, the research explores the plausible existence of tachyons, long thought by physicists. If these particles are proven to exist, they could shed light on the mysteries of dark matter, an important but elusive component believed to make up a large portion of the universe.

Proposed theory explains that the universe is full tachyonswhich explains its constant expansion. While traditional cosmological models attribute this expansion to dark energy, the existence of tachyons as dark matter may provide an alternative explanation.

According to the researchers, tachyon dark matter may have initially blocked the expansion of the universe before triggering an accelerated phase; This phenomenon is called “curved” expansion.

Support for this hypothesis comes in part from observations of Type Ia supernovae, celestial events that are used as cosmic reference points due to their constant brightness. Analyzing data from these supernovae, researchers found that the tachyon patterns were consistent with observed events and offered intriguing possibilities for further investigation.

However, it is important to note that this model remains speculative and requires detailed validation. Still, this is another step in our effort to understand the fundamental forces that shape our universe.
