According to a press release, Oak Ridge National Laboratory received a sample of a suspected extraterrestrial aircraft from research organization To The Stars Academy in 2022, which seems to be a mix of ufologists and conspiracy theorists. Speculations on the characteristics of the wreck

Conspiracy theorists at To The Stars Academy claim that “the material is precisely engineered with distinct layers of magnesium, zinc, and bismuth with a structural thickness of only a few microns” and that “such a structured combination of materials has no precedent.”

Oak Ridge Labs agreed to review the material after To The Stars Academy agreed to review it. “While the long-term chain of custody of this sample cannot be verified, the public and media interest in this sample warranted a transparent investigation using scientific methods,” the lab said.

The sample’s physico-chemical properties are said to make the material capable of “inertial mass reduction” (i.e. levitation or anti-gravity functionality), likely due to the material’s bismuth and magnesium layers acting as terahertz waveguides.
