The Governor’s Interestingness Jim Justice Blames Democrats for Loan DefaultThe politician bought the Greenbrier in 2009 after the hotel went bankrupt, and it’s been a headache for him ever since. In 2014, JPMorgan Chase loaned Justice $142 million for the property. The two sides are negotiating to reduce the debt starting in 2021, according to the governor’s statement. In July 2024, JPMorgan sold the company’s debt to Beltway Capital. The new owners immediately applied for a loan.
Another political stunt by the Democratic machine. In recent days, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon’s strong ties to the Democratic Party, his support for the Biden-Harris administration, and the Democrats’ continued control of the Senate have been well documented. What is known about the Greenbrier shelter
The Greenbrier is a historic landmark important in American history. The sulfurous spring water in the area has been a destination for those seeking healing since the late 1700s. In the 1950s Washington dug vast tracts of land and dug a bunkerCongress was supposed to use it in the event of a full-scale nuclear war.
The bunker still exists today, and tourists can walk through its narrow corridors to see the bunk beds that senators and congressmen would have slept in if they had to live there. There’s a mock Rose Garden for press conferences, a makeshift Senate chamber, and exercise bikes with ashtrays.
The entrance to the bunker looks like this:
Meanwhile, Bethesda has created a near-exact replica of the Greenbrier in the Fallout 76 video game, set in post-apocalyptic West Virginia. Ahead of the game’s release, Bethesda held a big event with a party in the bunker.
