Developer of hypersonic missiles jailed in Russia

The scientific head of the institute, Vasily Fomin, said that Shiplyuk was sent to the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow. His detention came shortly after the arrest of ITPM ​​Principal Investigator Anatoly Maslova, who is suspected of transmitting state classified data on hypersonic missiles.

The institute’s website says Shyplyuk heads a technological lab with unique wind tunnels built specifically to simulate hypersonic conditions.

According to the news of Sibir.Realii, the scientist was detained after the search and interrogation. Itpm employees and relatives of the scientist believe that this is precisely connected with the criminal case of Maslov. Also placed in “Lefortovo”, but in June.

• Also, on June 30, the Novosibirsk Soviet district court imprisoned Dmitriy Kolker, a researcher at the Institute of Laser Physics. He was also detained on charges of treason.
• The scientist allegedly collaborated with the Chinese security services.
• Kolker had end stage 4 cancer. He died while being transferred from the pre-trial detention center.
