Do you know him Boston Institute for Artificial Intelligence Dynamics? Well, you are sure to hear more about this new million dollar venture from Hyundai together with Boston Dynamics henceforth.

With a US$400 million investment, the automaker and robotics startup will begin research into artificial intelligence designed for robots.

“I, robot” close?

Hyundai has already strengthened its ties with Boston Dynamics in 2020 when it acquired a majority stake in the company. The creation of the Boston Dynamics Artificial Intelligence Institute, which will be led by Mark Raibert, founder of Boston Dynamics, is aimed at finding solutions in the development of advanced robots. The study, developed by the institute, will cover four areas: cognitive AI, sports AI, organic equipment design, and “ethics and politics.”

Through the research, the initiative will enable the next generations of robots to have more autonomy and be able to help people more effectively. According to Raibert, these smart machines will be smarter, more agile, more intuitive and safer:

“We need to make robots smarter, more agile, more agile, and easier to use—more human-like. Once we do this, robots and other types of intelligent systems will increase productivity, free people from dangerous jobs, take care of the disabled, and generally help people live better lives.”

It looks like the future is already knocking at our door, and the Boston Dynamics AI Institute is already looking for professionals to fill these research positions, as well as AI and robotics researchers, software and hardware engineers, and technicians across the board. The company’s headquarters will be located in Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
