Banco PAN stated in a note that the outage was due to the outsourcing company that was in charge of the customer service center. “There was no checking account compromise, system downtime, or intrusion into the bank’s infrastructure,” PAN said in a statement.

Sources associated with the TecMundo portal say there are 22 million compromised accounts. However, the bank denies this. The source stated that 25 GB of files will be copied, while PAN says the sample only goes up to 1 GB. According to the bank’s latest financial report for the 4th quarter of 2021, the institution has 17 million customers.
