Discovered that pregnancy changes the body permanently: but does it also apply to humans?

Difficulties faced by primates during pregnancy, according to a new study some lifelong effects can cause. The research, published in the journal PLOS ONE, revealed that pregnancy leaves a permanent “mark” on the skeleton of macaques, a type of primate.

Scientists find female macaque bones after pregnancy lower levels of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium discovers. The new discovery is being hailed as a recent finding that evidence of reproduction remains “in the bones” throughout life.

Does the same happen to humans?

Although the study was only done on macaques, it showed that since humans are primates too, the situation may be true for humans as well. In fact, another study published in November 2021 found that if the mother’s body is malnourished during pregnancy, loses most of the calcium in your bones showed.

But research is just temporary pointed out that it happened. It is therefore not yet clear whether pregnancy has a lasting effect on human bones, such as in macaques. In their latest study, scientists shared that traces of pregnancy can be “masked” by changes in diet and environment.
