How often in one family you can see several boys, and in another, on the contrary, only girls. Sometimes parents read about various ways, for example, to conceive a boy. There are claims that you have to follow a special calendar.
Some do not neglect folk signs, choosing the moment of conception by the day of the week or by the season. Scientists have also studied this fact a lot. Biologists from the United States believe that the genes of the father are responsible for the sex of the child. The mother does not play a role in this process.

The sex of the child is transmitted by the genes through the paternal line.
Biologist Corrie Gellati, who has been researching this subject for a long time, has come to this conclusion. During her research, the woman studied the pedigrees of nearly 1,000 American and European families. And that’s more than half a million people since the birth of 1600. As a result, Corrie discovered that it was men who had the X chromosome. Y, responsible for the birth of a girl and a boy, respectively. Women also have these chromosomes, but they are weak. Men carry two types of genes: from the father and from the mother. And as a result, which chromosomes combine and the sex of the child is determined. Options three:
- HH – if two male chromosomes are dominant, a male will be born.
- Find out – two women – one girl.
- FF – both sexes are more likely to be born here. It is unknown which chromosome will be dominant.
As for whether young parents can somehow control this process and predict who will be born in them – the opinion of scientists is unanimous: they can not.
Meanwhile, female genes are also important, but in shaping a child’s appearance and character. This is why children often look very much like their mothers. In this case, their genes were stronger.
