The Titanic was the largest ocean liner during its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York. On April 14, 1912, the Titanic collided with an iceberg and sank in the Atlantic Ocean, killing more than 1,500 people. Titanic’s death shocked the world and caused outrage due to the lack of lifeboats on board.

Since the wreckage was found, footage from the scene of the disaster has been shown in many documentaries about the Titanic. However, the new version offers raw and uncut footage of the Titanic as it was first seen after its discovery.

The 80-minute uncut video shows the ship lying on the Atlantic floor 3.22 kilometers below the surface. There are many iconic scenes in the video and the audience has the opportunity to watch the Titanic as they have never seen it before.

Discovery of the Titanic

In 1985, a team from the WHOI and the French National Oceanographic Institution found a shipwreck that was torn in half southeast of Newfoundland, Canada. The Titanic was considered nearly impregnable when it was built, but its death was one of the most infamous naval disasters in history.
