The city of Snailbrook is a Texas utopia

Snailbrook will be adjacent to the facilities of companies Boring and SpaceX, which are currently being built by Elon Musk’s company. The plots already have a group of modular homes, a pool, an outdoor sports field and a gym, and signs that read “Welcome to Snailbrook, Texas, circa 2021” hanging from poles.

Elon Musk invented the name of the city for a reason. Snailbrook is a reference to the Boring company mascot. When the billionaire began building the tunnels, he encouraged his employees to build drill rigs that moved “faster than a snail.” This is where the name “Texas utopia” came from.

Bastrop County officials have already approved street names for the future city. For example, one of them would be called “Boring Boulevard”.

Overall, Musk plans to build at least 101 homes that can accommodate 201 residents. This is the number of people needed for the city to be registered according to current legislation. However, no explanation has yet been received from Musk to the Bastrop District administration, where the city is being built.

People close to the construction said in a comment to the WSJ publication that they are building housing for the contractor himself near the town. Elon Max has repeatedly criticized California for its “excess” in everything. He thinks Texas is more ecological. Also, this state has no corporate tax, income tax, or capital gains tax for individuals, which the billionaire has been very critical of.

Boring company employees say they can apply for a house with a rent of around $800 in 2022. A house with 2 or 3 rooms will cost a lot.

Texans worried about Musk’s construction

Local residents of Bastrob County are concerned about the rapid construction of the city. Some believe that the officers were careless in inspection and did not fully control the construction work.

David Barrow, also a farmer who lives in the county, says the construction could threaten water quality in the Colorado River. And such experiences are not unfounded.

Recently, Musk’s construction company applied for permission to dump more than 500,000 liters of industrial waste into the river. Thereupon, some landowners united against the construction of Mask. Now a senator from the state of Texas has announced that environmental hearings are being held regarding Musk’s construction.
