OUR astronaut Jessica Watkins this Wednesday made history by becoming the first black woman in international space station. Jessica Watkins holds a degree in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford University. She received her doctorate (Ph.D.) in geology from the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In his doctoral research astronaut studied landslides on Mars and our planet using orbital imaging and spectrometry. Before being selected for NASA, Watkins was in a postdoctoral program at Caltech, where she worked as an associate at rover curiosity.

Watkins could be the first woman on the moon

In addition to marking her name in history by becoming the first black woman in international space station, Watkins may be the first woman on the moon. As part of the Artemis mission, she is part of the crew that will land on the satellite in 2025. This will be the first manned mission to the Moon since 1972. NASA has already confirmed that he plans to send the woman to Artemis.
