The launch is scheduled for 7 a.m. local time (9 a.m. GMT) from the SpaceX launch site at Boca Chica in South Texas, USA.

On April 14, the US Federal Aviation Administration issued a license to launch SpaceX. The flight will have a launch window of 150 minutes. However, the mission may be delayed depending on weather conditions.

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, expressed his excitement about the toughest Starship test yet on his Twitter profile. “Success possible, excitement sure,” he wrote.

This will be the first flight of a spacecraft in a complete configuration, including the first stage, called a super-heavy launch vehicle.

In February of this year, the company successfully tested all 33 Raptor engines on the Starship first stage. The Super Heavy was tethered to the ground to prevent it from actually taking off in an experiment known as static launch.

SpaceX is known for its ambitious vision of sending humans to colonize Mars. Starship was designed to carry crew and heavy payloads into deep space and can carry up to 100 people per flight. The success of Starship’s first orbital flight could be an important step in this direction.

While SpaceX has already sent astronauts to the International Space Station in partnership with NASA, the company’s mission is to make space travel more accessible and accessible to the general public. Starship is seen as an important step in this direction as it is designed to be reusable, which reduces the cost of space travel.

Great Starship Trials

The Starship rocket faces a number of challenges in its mission to get people to the planet Mars. To overcome these obstacles, the company has invested in innovative technologies and creative solutions.

One of the main challenges SpaceX has faced is the length of the journey, which lasts six months. In addition, 14 orbiting satellites are needed to navigate the trip to the red planet.

To make the mission viable, SpaceX intends to use an in-orbit refueling system. Thus, the Starship spacecraft will be refueled in low Earth orbit before being sent to Mars. This strategy will allow delivering up to 100 tons of cargo to the red planet, which will significantly reduce the cost of the mission.

Another major problem for the company is the landing of a starship on Martian soil. To do this, the ship needs a protective thermal plate to allow for a safe landing. It is expected that even with protection against repeated penetration into the atmosphere, the Martian atmosphere can damage the protective film.

In addition to extraterrestrial challenges, SpaceX is also facing terrestrial obstacles. One of them is the environmental impact caused by the construction and launching of the ship. A test and manufacturing facility in Boca Chica, South Texas is currently under review by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to evaluate potential environmental impacts.

Despite the difficulties, SpaceX remains committed to achieving its ambitious goals. The company’s goal is to make space travel more accessible and accessible to the general public, and the development of Starship is an important step in that direction.
