Logitech announces the 9 Logi Dock Flex.

A logitech announced last Wednesday (24) Logi Doc Flex, an all-in-one USB-C dock designed to alleviate some of the annoyances of hot desk and hybrid work. The Logi Dock Flex is reminiscent of the Amazon Echo Show smart device, with an 8-inch touchscreen that allows users to book rooms and control table availability through Zoom Workspace, Microsoft Teams, or Logitech’s new table reservation software.

The addition of an integrated display is unusual for a docking station, but Logitech has managed to equip the Logi Dock Flex with more ports to support a typical office setup. Two USB-C ports and one USB-A port are located below the screen on the front of the Logi Dock Flex. On the back, you’ll find two additional USB-A ports, a USB-C port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a Kensington port for security lockout.

It can support two 4K displays via an HDMI connection and a DisplayPort connection, and charges any 100W laptop connected to it via a dedicated USB-C connection. Employees can also use the Logi Dock Flex screen to join meetings and view their calendars, photos, and absence messages.

Logi Dock Flex brings news from the previous version

Logi Dock Flex is the successor to the original Logi Dock, which is a cube-shaped dock with a built-in speaker. “We’ve taken a multi-dimensional approach to building Logi Dock Flex that not only solves booking and management issues, but also promotes social collaboration and provides IT and office managers with data on technology and space usage.” said Scott Wharton, managing director of Logitech B2B.

The $699 Logi Dock Flex isn’t exactly cheap. If you don’t need a built-in screen, there are plenty of docks more affordable, and many of them, like CalDigit’s TS4, also support Thunderbolt, a feature that the Logi Dock Flex seems to lack. It includes a free version of Logitech’s table reservation software, but can be used independently through the Logi Tune mobile and desktop apps. A paid version of the table booking software is also available with an annual subscription of $49 per table, which offers additional features such as analytics, advanced user management, and office maps.

Logi Dock Flex will be available in Fall 2023 (date not disclosed). Logitech’s table reservation software is available now, and additional features included in the paid offer will be offered as a free beta until July 1, 2024.
