As stated, the company has filed a relevant application with the Ministry of Transport of Japan.
The recall will affect three models, Yaris, Aqua and Sienta, produced between December 2019 and May 2023.
The Ministry of Transport of Japan reported that the shock absorbers were partially defective. There they explained: when the car is constantly driving on a rough road, part of this component can break.
The ministry noted that no accidents have yet been registered, but 31 malfunctions are known, and driving was complicated in four cases.
Toyota also says it will offer free inspection at dealers and replacement of spare parts if needed.
