A Rocket Software survey of 300 US IT business leaders found that most see hybrid infrastructure as the best way to move forward.
The American company Rocket Software recently conducted a survey among the executives of almost three hundred other American IT companies with more than a thousand employees. Most strikingly, hybrid infrastructure is clearly the preferred way of working for the foreseeable future.
numbers and results
What keeps IT managers up at night? That was the question Rocket Software stuck to. The main reasons for insomnia among respondents were IT performance (60 percent) and data security (50 percent). Of course, the focus on safety is still important.
The majority of respondents also base their organization’s success on efficiency gains (71 percent), resource optimization (66 percent) and risk reduction (61 percent).
It is striking that 63 percent of those surveyed still spend six to fifteen hours a week manually processing data in their company. Not surprisingly, 93 percent of respondents are positive about hybrid infrastructure—from mainframe to cloud—as a way to host their future operations.
There are a few more results to be seen under this broad umbrella. Hybrid cloud is a top priority for the rest of this year for 65 percent of business leaders surveyed. The top three on this list also include data and content management and DevOps.
It is also striking that almost a third of those surveyed are absolutely convinced of their own technology, employees and processes that sound IT risk management is guaranteed.
solutions
In order to improve this and implement more modernization, opinions tend to differ. A quarter of respondents see cloud applications as the best solution for accessing mainframe data and operations. In addition, 39 percent opt for automation in various areas and fourteen percent for application development and access to APIs.
Rocket Software has a partnership with IBM, which recently unveiled plans for a European quantum data center. This can also count in terms of modernization.
