Synology has announced the launch of the DiskStation DS223j, a new dedicated NAS home offices and consumers who want to get started with these storage or networking devices. The manufacturer used the launch to introduce the second group of products, the hard drives of the HAT3300 Plus series.

This environment is solved by DiskStation DS223j, NAS s two bays that support up to 36 Tbytes raw storage capacity. It works with a 64-bit Realtek RTD1619B processor and has 1 GB of DDR4 memory. You can equip 3.5″ SATA hard drives as well as 2.5″ SATA SSDs. It has a 1 GbE LAN port and two external USB 3.2 ports.

New in this release, the drive will be the first Synology J-series NAS to support btrfs file system. This enables self-healing of files to mitigate data corruption and advanced features such as snapshot replication, which by creating frequent snapshots at a point in time, users can roll back unwanted and accidental file changes.

For others, and as with all Synology NAS devices, the software part is covered by one of the the best operating systems In the industry, DiskStation Manager was recently updated to version 7.2, which brought improvements across the entire ecosystem, including apps and services.

HAT3300 hard drives

Synology also has a range of proprietary hard drives designed specifically for use in their NAS. The HAT3300 series from Synology Plus boasts reliable and continuous operation, recording 1 million hours of mean time between failures. In addition, more than 300,000 hours of rigorous compatibility and stress testing have been performed to ensure smooth operation of the units.

Plus series hard drives are available in models 4TB, 6TB, 8TB and 12TB to meet different storage needs and budgets.

The DS223j is available from today through official Synology distributors in Spain. As for the Synology Plus series of SATA hard drives, they are now available for immediate purchase.
