AMD He did not go into specific details on a technical levelso we don’t know exactly how those extra frames will be generated, but it’s clear that this is AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s frame generation, which is part of DLSS 3 technology.

In the latter they are used, as we know, motion vectors and hardware acceleration (Optical Flow Accelerator) overcome the shortcomings of traditional frame interpolation, which means that the two technologies cannot be directly compared, since DLSS 3 is at a higher level.

Two other technologies are also integrated under the FSR 3, a change in scale that we have known so far FSR 2 and Anti-LAG+which aims to reduce the latency that occurs due to frame interpolation.

Personally I find AMD’s bet interestingand I’m looking forward to seeing what it manages to achieve, especially since the technology doesn’t seem to require specific hardware acceleration as it’s compatible with Radeon RX 5700 and higher and GeForce RTX 20 and higher. .

It will be possible to use FSR 3 without frame generation, but only Radeon RX 590 and higher and GeForce GTX 10 and higher will be supported. Recommended levels in this case are Radeon RX 5000 or higher and GeForce RTX 20 or higher.
