Telecommunications operator “Kyivstar” canceled the next planned fee for the tariff for its users and allocated 100 million UAH for the Armed Forces.
This was reported by the company’s press service on Facebook, Ukrinform reported.
“We are grateful to everyone who continues to support and believe in us. Therefore, our team: cancels the next scheduled fee for the tariff for its users; The message stated that it allocated 100 million Hryvnia to the needs of the Armed Forces.
The company specifically stated that the planned tariff fee will not be charged to everyone: from subscription subscribers from December 22 to January 21; Contracted subscribers, including those using the “Home Internet” service between 22 December and 21 January; Business customers for mobile and fixed communications services from January 1 to January 31; “Home Internet” and “Together” users from January 1 to January 31.
Kyivstar also announced that they have fully restored all essential services affected by the hacker attack.
As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of December 12, the operator “Kyivstar” became the target of a powerful hacker attack, which led to a technical malfunction. Communication and internet access services became unusable.
The company assured that subscribers’ personal data will not be compromised. They also promised compensation to subscribers who did not have a connection or could not use the operator’s services.
The Security Service of Ukraine has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the cyber attack on Kyivstar. One of the versions of the investigation involved the participation of Russian special services.
