Intel is launching a new company: Articul8 AI. This organization offers an integrated full-stack generative AI solution for enterprises.
Intel keeps Articul8 AI above the baptismal font. This is a new independent company that aims to provide companies with a complete solution for generative AI. The technology for this offer was developed at Intel, but to start the company, the chip specialist is also relying on investment money from the DigitalBridge Group.
Articul8 is an independent company, but maintains a close relationship with Intel. Not surprisingly, the new company’s preferred platform is based on Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and Intel Gaudi accelerators. In the long term, Articul8 should also support alternative hardware.
Articul8’s technology was initially introduced at Boston Consulting Group. The company wants to target similar companies with its solution. The goal is to use AI solutions internally with customers. These generative AI tools are tailor-made and have specialized knowledge. Safety is also at the heart of the offer.
On the one hand, Intel wants to play a more important role in the AI story, but on the other hand, CEO Pat Gelsinger does not want to lose focus on the core business – chip development and production. The spinoff fits this picture: Intel technology based on Intel hardware forms the cornerstone of the offering, while Articul8 still operates independently and has attracted outside investors. Using the same approach, Intel has previously split off activities and departments. For his part, Gelsinger emphasized late last year that the future of the AI market lies in inference.
