As mentioned, users will be able to share files through the app by opening a special window that displays other users nearby.
WhatsApp representatives emphasized that users must open the file exchange window themselves, the sender will select the recipient from the list of nearby contacts. The recipient must then click on the appropriate phone number to see and accept the file sharing request.
WhatsApp said that when transferring files using this feature, phone numbers will be hidden and will not be visible to people who are not in the contact list.
The developers guarantee that the file transfer process will be safe as it is protected by end-to-end encryption to protect files and personal data.
As reported by Ukrinform, WhatsApp is working to offer additional verification feature to users to increase the protection of accounts.
