Biden says his memory is fine; then he confused Egypt with Mexico

US President Joe Biden held a news conference to mark the special counsel’s decision not to press charges for smuggling classified documents into his home.

He also directly addressed the allegations of prosecutor Robert Gur, who called him “an old man with a bad memory”.

He stated that his memory was fine and emphasized that he had every opportunity to implement his position, although at another point in the press conference he confused Egypt with Mexico when speaking about the crisis in the Middle East:

At a press conference, he was confronted by reporters who questioned him directly about his memory, interrupting them and pointing out that he was the man best suited to confront Donald Trump and “finish what he started” as president.

He acknowledged that he should have turned in all the documents he left behind at his home after serving as vice president in the Barack Obama administration.

The President said “I didn’t break the law, period.” and began to leave the stage while reporters asked him questions. At that moment something caught his attention and he returned to the microphone.

It was then that he confused Egypt with Mexico, speaking about its president Abdel Fattah el-Sissi.

Biden’s memory and age have been criticized by the Republican campaign. Biden and his team have made it clear that he is healthy and in perfect shape for the job.
