Logitech releases MX Brio webcam

Logitech launches the first MX series webcam, the MX Brio. The webcam uses AI to give you a better picture in difficult lighting conditions.

Logitech today announces the MX Brio webcam: according to the manufacturer, the most advanced webcam the company has released to date. The new webcam is the offspring of two product lines in the Logitech portfolio: the Brio webcam series and the MX keyboard and mouse series. Logitech sees a webcam as a logical addition to the MX products: the majority of users buy the keyboards and mice to work from home.

The Logitech MX Brio supports a maximum image quality of 4K Ultra HD (30 fps) and has a viewing angle of 90 degrees. The webcam has larger pixels to let in more light. The fold-out base allows you to easily attach the webcam to the top of your monitor. By turning the camera ring, you activate the privacy screen in case you do not want to be observed.

A touch of AI

In 2024, you can’t launch a product without mentioning artificial intelligence somewhere, and the Logitech MX Brio is no exception. The algorithms in the camera follow your face so you are always centered in the frame and can retouch here and there to keep you looking fresh and happy.

The magic lies primarily in adjusting the lighting: if you are in a dark room, it appears as if the camera is turning on the lights. The light correction also works the other way around: bright light coming from a window is made more subtle by the algorithms. “Show Mode” is also an eye-catching image feature and is used to visualize things on your desk. When you point your camera at a piece of paper, the mode ensures that the text or drawing is clearly visible.

AI is also in the microphone. The double microphone creates an invisible “sound tunnel” on both sides. This means that only sounds that remain within the boundaries of the tunnel are picked up by the microphone. This filters out ambient noise and ensures your voice is captured clearly.

The webcam is available from today for 229 euros (plus VAT) in black or white. Logitech is launching a consumer and professional version that has the exact same hardware but is controlled by different software. The webcam is certified for Zoom and Microsoft Teams and works on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux.
