Hybrid meetings are great for in-office workers, but remote workers don’t always have a pleasant and engaging experience. The Poly Studio E360 is supposed to change that.
During HP Amplify in Las Vegas, the manufacturer announced three new devices from Poly for better video conferencing. The Poly Studio E360 is an extension of an existing Poly Studio The Poly Studio E60 is a new camera with 12x optical zoom, while the Poly Studio V52 is a beginner-friendly camera bar via USB.
Each of the three solutions supports Poly Director AI, which allows you to easily choose between different modes:
Group Framing: All participants in the meeting room are centered in one image. As a viewer, you have an overall view of the room.
Speaker framing: The camera zooms (digitally or optically) on the speaker and centers it in the video image.
People Framing: This mode gives each participant a separate video image. This allows you to see facial expressions more clearly and reduces the “box effect” of the meeting room.
Presenter Tracking: The camera follows a presenter who is standing in front of a whiteboard or flipchart, for example.
PolyStudio E360
The Poly Studio E360 is a 360-degree camera that you place centrally on the conference table. It is an extension of a Poly Studio
Consider the “People Framing” option above. For example, if there are four participants and two call, there’s a good chance there will be more interaction between the four physical participants at the table. If they look at each other, which is natural, you miss the interaction with the video participants. The Poly Studio E360 solves this problem by directly imaging participants as if they were looking into the front camera.
HP is not alone in this. We previously looked at a similar 360° camera from Logitech. You can read our review of the Logitech Sight here.
We still have to wait a while until the Poly Studio E360 is available. HP is targeting availability by the end of 2024. A suggested retail price will be announced later this year.
Poly Studio V52 and Studio E60
Large meeting rooms require cameras with a large zoom to properly see everyone in the picture. HP is therefore launching the Poly Studio E60, which has a 12x optical zoom on board and a 4K camera sensor.
If you are looking for an accessible camera bar, you can go for the Poly Studio V52. The device is the twin brother of the Studio X52, but works with USB. So you don’t need a Rooms license with Zoom or Teams. With this device, HP is primarily targeting smaller SMEs. The solution is certified for Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Simply connect your laptop via USB and you can start video conferencing.

The Poly Studio E60 will be available in the US starting this month. The suggested retail price is $1,699. The Poly Studio V52 will be released in the USA in April. HP has not yet announced a suggested retail price for the USB camera bar. European availability and local pricing are not yet known.
