A few months ago I told you that the development of GTA 6 was going through difficult times and that because of this its launch may be delayed until 2026. That information was left in limbo, so it wasn’t confirmed or disproved, but the truth is that it made a lot of sense and seemed plausible.
The CEO of Take-Two, which is the publisher of the GTA franchise, clarified the issue by saying that GTA 6 is likely to arrive in the fall of 2025, i.e. at the end of next year. It’s important to note that the executive used the word “probable,” meaning that we still don’t have a definitive GTA 6 launch date, and that it’s possible that it could end up being pushed back to 2026.
When asked if he was concerned about the possible negative impact of the release date on GTA 6 sales, Take-Two’s CEO literally said that It most likely doesn’t matter although they prefer to stick to the launch window they’re targeting now, meaning they believe it would be ideal for there to be no delays and for GTA 6 to launch on the stated date, Fall 2025.
The new installment of the well-known Rockstar franchise will be exclusive to current generation consoles. It’s not coming to PS4 or Xbox One, and at the moment it’s not coming to PC either, which means They will give up important user bases, and that the potential sales will be much lower than GTA V with all that entails.
The CEO of Rockstar was positive in this regard, because the current base of consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S exceeds 86 million pieces, and it is expected to be exceeded by the end of this year 111 million pieces. By the time GTA 6 was released, we may have already approached 150 million consoles sold.
It is very likely that the PC version of GTA 6 will arrive eventually between six months and a year after the console versionand of course, this will also greatly contribute to the sales of this new part of the franchise, which will not only be the most technically advanced, but also one of the most complex and ambitious games developed to date.
If you’re wondering what PC you’ll need to move it, I’m sorry to say that we still don’t have official information, even though it’s been a few months. I wrote an estimate with possible GTA 6 requirements that can serve as a reference so you know where the shots will go. Generally, any computer with 16GB of RAM, a 6-core, 12-thread Zen 2 CPU or higher, and a graphics card GeForce RTX 4060, Radeon RX 7600 or equivalent You should be able to move it without any problems.
