“I was shot with a bullet that went through the top of my right ear.
“I knew right away that something was wrong because I heard a buzzing sound, gunshots and immediately felt the bullet go through my skin. YesI bled out and realized what was happening.“.
Trump explained that at this point “nothing is known” about the identity or motives of the attacker.
“It is incredible that such an act could happen in our country.”
The 78-year-old New York tycoon thanked the Secret Service and other law enforcement officials for their “quick response” to the rally, which took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.
He also expressed his “deepest condolences” to the family of the member of the public killed in the shooting and another person who was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
