The telecommunications provider Digi is looking for testers for the general launch

Digi is about to enter the Belgian telecommunications market. The company is currently testing its fiber optic network and mobile infrastructure and plans to connect the first customers soon.

Digi, the new Belgian telecommunications operator, offers a complete range of mobile telephony, Internet and TV. It is currently in the final test phase. This applies both to the fixed network via its own fiber optic network and to mobile antennas, which must ensure nationwide coverage.

Around 2 million households in large cities are expected to be connected to Digi’s network at some point. The new telecommunications operator originally wanted to offer its first products this summer. This deadline was not met.

In Brussels, Digi is now looking for test families living in the Kuregem district. They can connect to the network for free and enjoy high-speed internet until the end of the year. There are currently 10,000 households in Brussels that can be connected. The final tests are also underway for the mobile network. Anyone interested can register.

Future plans and physical stores

Digi also plans to open its first physical stores in Ghent and Brussels. This will allow customers to receive advice and services not only online but also in person. The company says it has already registered 30,000 potential customers who are interested in a subscription.

If the launch is successful, Digi will be the fourth telecommunications operator in Belgium. In the 5G auction two years ago, in cooperation with Citymesh, it secured enough licenses. The latter takes care of the business market, while Digi can concentrate on the private market.
