Kirby’s Dream Buffet is a step-by-step video game set in a world of cakes, candies and strawberries. The game gives us the option to face another player in local mode or play alone, facing a group of CPU Kirbys. The goal is to reach the finish line and be crowned the Kirby who ate the most strawberries.

The mini-games take place in a colorful environment full of sweets and food. You will have to eat as many strawberries as you can, collect as many as you can to be the biggest Kirby, overcome the obstacles that appear while you progress in a straight line to the finish line and try to knock your opponents off the track. . Once you play Grand Prix Gourmet, one of the 5 game modes that Kirby’s Dream Buffet has to offer, this dynamic repeats itself quite a bit.

The Single race mode, invites you to compete against other users in a series of circuits with various obstacles and enemies from the Kirby universe; and Relaxed minigame mode, it’s not a race, but you have to get the most strawberries within the time limit before your opponents do; and Free competition mode, similar to Single Minigames Mode; This mode is designed as a chaotic fight where you have to attack your opponents by copying food to steal their strawberries.

You finally have Go into ball mode, a mode where the only goal is to roll around a candy platform looking for strawberries. Undoubtedly, a mode that will serve as training before competing in Grand Prix Gourmet. Also, every time you play and feast on strawberries, you’ll level up, which allowing you to unlock rewards and collectibles.

In conclusion…

Despite not being an innovative game, it manages to transport us to a world full of colors that feels like a table full of food that you can enjoy alone or, better yet, share with your friends. This video game is available for €14.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
