As CNN points out, this created inconvenience for people who were just looking for travel information. There are no signs of impact on actual air transport.

Obviously we are watching it and there is no worry of disruption to operations.
– Kirsten Todt, Chief of Staff of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), commented.

Among the 14 websites is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. CNN reporters spoke to one of the workers and confirmed that there were no results. The Los Angeles International Airport website was previously down, but was back online fairly quickly.

This attack is believed to be the work of hackers from the Killnet group, who were responsible for removing attacks on US state governments’ websites as well as the US Congress website in July. According to the source, Russian cybercriminals “intensified their activities against organizations in NATO countries.”
